The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened applications for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses for the May 2026 intake.
In a notice on March 8, 2026, KUCCPS explained that the programmes are offered at institutions such as National Polytechnics, Technical Training Institutes, Institutes of Science and Technology, and other technical colleges.
“You can now apply for TVET courses offered in National Polytechnics, Technical Training Institutes, Institutes of Science and Technology and other technical colleges, for the May 2026 intake,” KUCCPS stated in its statement.
This application targets KCSE candidates from the 2000 to 2025 cohorts.
Further, the body stated that any form four leaver can find a course to pursue, regardless of their grades.
“With any KCSE mean grade, you can find a course,” the notice read.
According to the issued notice, all applicants are expected to submit their applications by March 13, 2026.
“The application is also open to Form Four leavers of other years. The deadline is 18/3/2026,” KUCCPS stated.
How to Apply for 2025 TVET Courses
To apply for the TVET Courses via KUCCPS, learners must go to the official student portal of the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service at students.kuccps.ac.ke.

Log in to their accounts by following the following steps;
- Enter your KCSE index number, KCSE examination year, and password.
- For most applicants, the default password is the KCPE index number or birth certificate number used during KCSE registration.
Select the TVET Application Section after logging in by opening the TVET Courses application window available on the dashboard.
Browse available programmes offered in institutions such as National Polytechnics, Technical Training Institutes, and Institutes of Science and Technology. Use the course search tool to filter by programme name, institution, or qualification level.
Select the course you want to apply for and confirm the programme code and institution before submitting.
Check that all the selected course details are correct, then submit the application through the portal.
Wait for Placement Results. After the application deadline, KUCCPS processes the applications and publishes the placement results on the same portal.

Who is Eligible for TVET Applications
KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Wahome said in a media interview that the placement agency has improved transparency by ensuring students first receive their KCSE results, after which KUCCPS publishes the previous year’s minimum entry grades and cut-off points on its portal.
She further explained that form Four leavers who sat the KCSE between 2000 and 2024 and scored grades C to E will be eligible to apply for TVET courses when the window opens.
TVET admission requirements will remain structured as follows:
- Grade E: Artisan Certificate (Level 4)
- Grade D: Craft Certificate (Level 5)
- Grade C–: Diploma (Level 6)
KUCCPS also confirmed that candidates who scored C qualify for the Diploma in Primary Teacher Education, while those with C+ qualify for the Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education.
