Moi Girls High School-Isinya is a national girls’ secondary school located in Kajiado County. The learning institution is an Africa Inland Church (AIC)-sponsored government school.
The public school was established in 1980 by AIC to address the educational needs of girls in Maasai land, admitting 200 students when it started.
Among notable alumni of Moi Girls Isinya are Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti, Kajiado East Member of Parliament Peris Tobiko, and former nominated Senator Mary Senata.
Over the years, the institution evolved into a modern school with a strong culture of good performance in national exams.
Moi Girls Isinya has developed into a boarding school, playing host to over 1,000 girls.
The learning institution was elevated to national school status owing to its growth both physically and academically.
Over 200 students are admitted to the school annually based on academic merit and individual choice, in line with Kenya’s education policy.
Moi Girls Isinya Performance
Until 2023, admissions at the institution were based on performance in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.
However, this was replaced by the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), introduced under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) framework.
Moi Girls Isinya has, over the years, consistently upheld a strong academic record and remarkable achievements in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
In the 2023 KCSE, the school had 237 candidates, with more than 88% achieving the minimum university entry grade under full government sponsorship.

The 2023 candidates achieved a mean score of 8.5206.

The government had earlier set a directive specifying the maximum yearly school fees that parents are expected to pay.
As part of the Ministry of Education’s 2020 guidelines, Kenya’s 103 national schools were divided into four clusters.
Moi Girls Isinya was categorized under Cluster One (I), which places the official annual fee limit at around Ksh75,798 per student.
