The County government of Kisumu, through the Kisumu County Public Service Board, has announced 186 permanent and pensionable jobs across various departments.
In a notice dated April 28, Kisumu County Public Service Board announced job vacancies across the Kisumu County Revenue Board, Department of Medical Services, and the Department of Water, Environment, Climate Change, and Natural Resources.
“Kisumu County Public Service Board invites applications from suitably qualified, motivated, and proactive individuals to fill vacancies in the following departments,” the County government said in part of the notice.
From the notice, all applications are to be submitted by May 19, 2026, at 5: 00 PM.
To qualify for the advertised Kisumu County jobs, applicants must be Kenyan citizens and demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and team spirit.
They may also be required to present a valid certificate of good conduct.
Successful candidates should be willing to work in any part of the County as may be assigned.
Among the vacancies, the County Revenue Board advertised one vacancy for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), to be filled on a three-year contract.
The indicative salary scale for the position is a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) contract, with a basic monthly salary ranging from KES 350,000 to KES 450,000.
This package also includes applicable allowances such as house, car, responsibility, and gratuity.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law or a related field.
- A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
- At least 10 years’ relevant experience, with 5 years in senior management.
- Registered member of a relevant professional body (e.g., ICPAK, IIA, CPS, LSK).
- Demonstrated leadership, strategic planning, and public financial management skills.
- Meets the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

- Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution.

According to the Kisumu County Public Service Board, candidates are required to apply by downloading and completing the official employment application form available at www.kisumu.go.ke or www.cpsb.kisumu.go.ke.
The completed form must be submitted together with copies of academic and professional certificates as a single continuous PDF document, clearly indicating the job title in the email subject, and sent to kpscjobs2026kisumu.go.ke on or before 19th May 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
The board stated that hard-copy applications should be delivered in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the position applied for on top, and addressed to the Kisumu County Public Service Board Offices, Okore Road, Milimani, during working hours.

Additionally, applicants with foreign degrees are required to have their qualifications authenticated by the Commission for University Education (CUE) and to present certified academic documents from the issuing institutions during interviews.
“Chapter 6 requirements will apply only to successful applicants,” the County stated.

It further warned that any form of canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification and emphasized that the recruitment process is free of charge.
