Speculation remains high barely hours before Deputy President William Ruto officially unveils his running mate for the August 9 polls.
DP Ruto is expected to make the announcement anytime today at his official Karen residence.
Among the names being mentioned as Ruto’s possible running mates include Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki, Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua,Kandara MP Alice Wahome and House Speaker Justin Muturi
On the other side, Azimio-One Kenya leader Raila Odinga is expected to name his running mate on Monday hours to the May 16 midnight deadline set by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Sources say Odinga is expected to pick one candidate from a list of three which includes Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua, former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
