Mary Nyokabi Kamau is a Kenyan politician who has set her sights on becoming the next Member of Parliament (MP) for Ol Kalou in the 2027 general election.
She plans to contest the parliamentary seat under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Born in 1982 in Olkalou, Nyandarua County, she was raised in Matura Sublocation, Rurii Ward.
Nyokabi Kamau Educational Background
Nyokabi holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
She has also undertaken professional training in Sustainable Solid Waste Management for African Countries at JICA–Yokohama City, Japan, and Strategic Environmental Assessment at ChromAfrica.
Career Background
Nyokabi Kamau is a Kenyan environmental expert and lead consultant in Environmental and Waste Management at the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA).
She is also the founder of Green Health and Safe Environs Limited, a company that has been in operation since 2010.
Kamau serves as an Independent Board Member at the Kenya Nuclear Regulatory Authority, a position she has held for one year.

Mary has over 14 years of experience in public health, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments and Audits, waste management across various sectors, monitoring and evaluation, and green energy.
Over the years, she has built extensive expertise in socio-economic and environmental impact assessments, environmental auditing, occupational health and safety, risk assessment, and sustainable waste management.
Her specialized interest in asbestos and hazardous waste management has earned her recognition within professional circles, where she is often referred to as an “asbestos expert.”

Her Political Ambitions
Nyokabi outlined a bold vision anchored on accountability, transparency, and better legislative leadership.
She stated that if elected as a Member of Parliament, she will not engage in vote-seeking through handouts, but instead focus on effective lawmaking, oversight, and safeguarding public resources for the benefit of residents.
Nyokabi further noted that she will push for strict accountability across government ministries that affect Ol Kalou, while ensuring that the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) is managed transparently and used strictly for its intended development purposes.
According to her, bursaries will be awarded fairly, school projects will be completed, and support for youth and women will be delivered without favoritism.
Mary maintained that she would not tolerate incompetence or corruption, stressing that leadership must focus on long-term development rather than short-term political gestures.
