Kenyan comedian Timothy Kimani Ndegwa, famously known as Njugush, has confirmed that he and his long-time partner, Celestine Ndinda, popularly known as Wakavinye, parted ways last year.
In a public post on April 21, Njugush acknowledged the separation but explained that the two were actively coparenting their two sons, who remain “their top priority”.
According to the comedian, the separation was made by mutual agreement and with respect, after careful consideration.
The comedian has requested that the public grant the two privacy and understanding as they navigate their next chapter in life.
“Last year, we decided to part ways after much thought and with mutual respect. We have been co-parenting, and our children remain our top priority. We continue to support one another and kindly ask for privacy and understanding as we navigate this next chapter,” the post from Njugush read.
Njugush and Wakavinye
The two met as students at the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) and have been dating since their time at the school, making it approximately 14 years together before the separation last year.
In December 2016, Timothy Kimani Ndegwa and Celestine Ndinda tied the knot at PCEA Evergreen Church in Nairobi, with celebrities including comedian Abel Mutua and his wife in attendance at the ceremony.
During their time together, they had two sons, with the the oldest, Tugi, born in February 2018, and Toria born in August 2022.

Njugush and Wakavinye Major Creative Projects
One of the biggest shows for the couple is the Valentine’s Day show titled Thick and Thin (TTNT) that received support and a complete sellout due to high fan demand.
During the TTNT 5, the couple sold out their show to 6,000 people, with TTNT 6 scheduled for August 8, 2026.
Separation Speculation
The public had speculations on the couple not being together in the late 2025 and early 2026.
A blog post from Edgar Obare also fueled the public speculation on the rumors of Wakavinye and Njugush parting ways, with the public reacting to the Valentine’s Day post he made.

Wakavinye was alleged to have been spotted by her fans in mid-February, in her own videos and photos, without her wedding ring on one occasion.
Additionally, it was claimed that the comedian had moved out of their Ruiru mansion due to the separation.
The making of separate appearances and the change in content production dynamics on the social media accounts of Wakavinye and the comedian also contributed to public speculation.
Fans have been keeping track of the couple since mid-February, awaiting the verification of the rumors, noting that Njugush had diverted to making solo family content at the family’s Ruiru home.
