Early Life and Education
Njugush was born on May 20, 1991, in Meru County. He was raised in a Christian household by his father, Rev. Bernard Ndegwa, a PCEA minister, and his mother, Jane Njambi, a businesswoman.
In his youth, his family moved around a lot because his father was a reverend. He went to approximately seven schools.
“We went from Meru, to Kikuyu, Eldoret, and from Ololoi Tigochi to Muthithi,” Njugush said during a past interview.
Njugush completed his KCSE in 2009 with a C+, a performance he openly admits fell short of his expectations.
Later, he joined the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) instead of the Catholic University.
At KIMC, he studied journalism, hosted a reggae show on the school’s ECN radio station, and actively participated in the drama club.
Career
Njugush first auditioned at the Kenya National Theatre three days after finishing high school.
He auditioned six times before one of the auditions was successful for the set book and plays.
“We have seen what you can do and what you cannot do. We will call you when we need what you can do,” Njugush quoted the words of a director for a spill works he had auditioned for him several times.
During his high school years, Njugush did not get involved in acting; instead, he focused on music.
His talent was first discovered by Abel Mutua, who later cast him in the YouTube comedy series Hapa Kule News (2013).
Between 2014 and 2016, Njugush starred as “Njuguna” in the TV comedy series The Real Househelps of Kawangware (TRHK), winning the hearts of viewers across KTN, NTV, and Maisha Magic East.
He left the show in 2016 to start creating digital content, and in 2019, he returned to acting, specifically on the show Undercover.
