Mogeni’s leadership qualities saw him rise to prominent positions within the legal community. He served as Chairman of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) Advisory Board from 2006 to 2008, where he provided strategic oversight in the fight against corruption and strengthening public accountability.

In 2007, he was elected as President of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK), a position he held until 2010.
