BIOGRAPHY
Peter Ndegwa is a Kenyan businessperson, accountant, and corporate executive, who is currently serving as the chief executive officer at Safaricom.
Educational Background
Ndegwa attended the Starehe Boys’ Centre and School after which he joined The University of Nairobi and obtained his bachelor’s degree in economics. Ndegwa, also a certified Public Accountant, graduated from the London School of Business with a Master of Business Administration.
Carrer
Peter Ndegwa joined the East African Breweries (EABL) in 2004 as their director of strategy. He left EABL after eight years of service and joined the Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) as their managing director in December 2011. Ndegwa walked at GGBL until August 2015 after which he went ahead to head Guinness Nigeria.
In July 2018, he moved to Amsterdam where he worked as the General Manager for Diageo’s business in Western and Eastern Europe, Russia included.
On April 1, 2020, Ndegwa took over as the first Kenyan Safaricom plc CEO, taking over from Michael Joseph who was acting CEO after the demise of Bob Collymore.
