Robert Gichimu is a Kenyan politician and the Member of Parliament for Gichugu Constituency, Kirinyaga County.
Early life and educational background
Robert Gichimu Githinji was born in Gichugu Constituency in Kirinyaga County.
He began his education in 1982 when he joined Mugumo Primary School. In 1987, Githinji was transferred to Nceme Primary School in Igembe South, Meru County, where he sat his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 1989.
Robert Gichimu then joined Meru School in 1990 and sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in 1993.
He then joined the University of Nairobi in 1995 for his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and successfully graduated in 1999. He then pursued a Diploma in Law at the Kenya School of Law in 2000.
He was then admitted to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2001.

Robert Gichimu began his career at Mutua Mboya & Company Advocates in 2001, a position he held till 2003 while handling a variety of legal matters that strengthened his skills in litigation and client representation.
In 2004, he joined Anne W. Kimani & Company Advocates, where he focused on commercial law, property transactions, and dispute resolution until 2006.
In 2007, he co-founded Gichimu Mungaya & Company Advocates, taking on leadership responsibilities while continuing active legal practice before transitioning to become a Certified Public Secretary.
Political career
Robert Gichimu Githinji’s entry into politics began in 2013 when he contested the Gichugu Constituency parliamentary seat on a Grand National Union of Kenya ticket and lost.
In 2017, he ran again, this time under the Jubilee Party and won decisively, securing over 68,000 votes.
During his first term, he served on The Committee on Selection and the Departmental Committee on Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives.
He sought a second term in 2022 under a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket and won, expanding his influence, with roles in the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee and the Committee on Delegated Legislation.
