It provides multiple curricula, including Kenyan National, Cambridge International, and Montessori programs.

Viraj International Curricula and Education

Montessori Program

Designed for children aged 2.5 to 6 years, this program is divided into Pink (2.5-4 years), Blue (4-5 years), and Green (5-6 years) levels.

It follows the Montessori method, focusing on child-centered learning, creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills. Classes

Classes typically have an average of 25 learners, supported by a dedicated teacher and teaching assistant, with child-sized furniture and well-equipped resources.

Learning areas include Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, Culture, Creative Development, and Physical Development, with additional specialist one-on-one sessions for handwriting, reading, and library activities.

Co-curricular activities such as ballet, swimming, taekwondo, and music enhance the experience, preparing students for further education in the Kenyan or British curricula at Grade 1 or Year 1.

Kenyan National Curriculum

This includes both the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), launched in 2017 and currently available for Grades 1-3 with progressive expansion, and the 8-4-4 system for existing students.

The CBC is learner-centered, adaptive to the needs of children, teachers, and society, emphasizing the application of skills and knowledge to real-life situations.

It focuses on seven core competencies: communication and collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving, creativity and imagination, citizenship, digital literacy, learning to learn, and self-efficacy.

The 8-4-4 system allows learners to complete their education with the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) at Standard 8 and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) at Form 4, facilitating entry into colleges and universities across Kenya.

Typical class sizes range from 25-30 students, with daily communication via school diaries, termly progress reports, and parent-teacher consultation meetings.

Cambridge International Curriculum (CAIE)

Offered for students aged 5 to 18 (Year 1 to Year 13), this curriculum culminates in qualifications such as Primary Checkpoint, Secondary Checkpoint, IGCSE, and A-Levels, recognized by leading universities and employers worldwide.

It prepares students for enrollment in universities in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Canada, Germany, and beyond.

The program is structured into key stages: Junior school (Year 1-6) with Primary Checkpoint at Year 6, High school (Year 7-9) with Secondary 1 Checkpoint at Year 9, Secondary 2 level (Year 10-11) with IGCSE exams, and A-S Level (Year 12) followed by complete A-Level at Year 13.

Classrooms are equipped with modern technology, including projector screens, computers, and Apple iPads for research and e-learning, enhancing the educational experience.

Facilities

The school is equipped with modern facilities to support its educational programs, including technology integration for e-learning and well-resourced classrooms.
