The County Government of Kakamega has announced vacancies in 274 positions for jobs in its department of Health services.
In a notice published on a local daily, the county invited applications from qualified persons to fill the vacant posts.
Among the advertised slots are 80 vacant posts for nurses and 24 other posts for clinical officers.
In addition, the county invited applications from persons seeking jobs as assistant public health officers (10), assistant occupational therapist (10), and dental technologists (10).
Other vacant positions, as per the notice, include morticians (3), medical engineering technologists (6), clinical officers (24), pharmaceutical Technologists (20), and medical laboratory technologists (16).
The requirements for the various posts are available on the county’s official website and are varying according to the specific posts.
How to Apply for the jobs
Applications for the posts can be found online through the “Our Job Offers’ option on the county website.
Upon clicking on the option, the applicants will then proceed to fill the online form on the site with details as required.
According to the notice, the deadline for the application, is on Wednesday December 13.
Successful candidates will then receive notifications on the next step after their applications.
Further in the notice, Kakamega County’s Public Serice Board affirmed that no hard copy application or email applications would be accepted.

In addition, the county encouraged female candidates and persons living with various disabilities to apply for the posts.
At the application level, according to the county’s rules, the applicants should not attach any documents.
Instead, the applicants will present original certificates to the board during interviews including identification documents and academic certificates.
However, persons already serving in the county government should clearly indicate their payroll number and date of the last promotion.

To prevent cases of fraudsters who often target jobseekers, the public service board stated that it only uses an email with the address cbsb@kakamega(dot)go(dot)ke as its formal channel of communication.
Alternatively, the county could use phone calls through a mobile phone number 0745888999.
Additionally, the county’s employment board clarified that it does not charge any costs in the recruitment process.
As such the county government warned that canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification.
“Kakamega County Public Service Board does not use any agent nor charge any fee at any stage of the recruitment or selection process,” the notice read in part.
