Celebrated Kenyan artist and rapper Khaligraph Jones has offered a word of encouragement to his fans, who wish to be successful like him.
While speaking on Citizen TV’s 10 over 10 show on Friday, November 22, Kaligraph attributed his success to discipline, hard work and having a prayerful life.
“But kama uko hapo ivo mi huambia wasee of course me hukam from a prayerful background so mi huambia wasee ekelea God mbele discipline ni number one…wewe mwenyewe ndio unaweza kujisaidia ufike iyo level unataka kufika (I always tell people that I come from a prayerful background so put God first and be disciplined. You’re the only one who can get yourself where you want to be),” said Kaligraph
Kaligraph Mansion meant to avenge poverty
While giving a snippet of his background, the rapper went on to talk about his mansion that has received much ridicule on social media, saying he built it to avenge the poverty he grew up in.

“Kwanza hakuna shortcut ata mimi niling’ang’ana mbaya sana ata mkiona hizi mambo za mansion sijui sisi tulilala inje, tulilala chini so sahi lazima turevenge izo mashida (There is no shortcut, I also struggled so hard so when I see the talk around on my mansion, I am reminded of when I use to sleep outside and on the floor. Right now, I have to avenge for the poverty I grew up in),” stated the rapper.
Kaligraph also told his fans that they need to persevere, be patient, and not succumb to the pressure of social media in their quest for their dreams and goals.

Social media is full of pressure
“Patience is everything… patience is key lakini unajua sahi kuna social media so unaweza ona uyu jamaa anafanya kitu useme ata mimi nataka kufanya iyo very fast (but right now there’s a lot of pressure on social media, you may see someone doing something and start copying them). Everything good takes time. So just be patient with it and the doors will open, cause they opened for me,” said the artist.
The ‘Tuma Kitu’ hitmaker came under sharp criticism after he unveiled his complete maisonette that had been under construction for a couple of years. The house is located in Karen, Nairobi.
