Diamond Platnumz, Tanzanian Bongo Artist, arrived in Kenya on a private jet ahead of the Tusker Oktoberfest.
The Bongo sensation is among celebrated artists performing at the fest in Nairobi at the Ngong Racecourse from Friday, October 27 to Sunday October 29.
“Nairobi, here I am to perform in the Oktoberfest, Platinumz is around,” he said.
Heavy guarded, Diamond was welcomed enthusiastically in Nairobi. He was later ferried to Serena Hotel where he spent the night.

In an interview, the Bongo artist acknowledged the support and love he felt with the reception in Kenya.
“I think people here love me a lot, they support me a lot,” he noted.
Diamond Performance
Earlier, Diamond had promised to dive into the crowd as he was performing in the Oktoberfest.
He had shared a video of an artiste who jumped into the crowd as he was performing, saying he wanted to do the same in Nairobi.
“I want to do this in Nairobi,” he wrote.
Notably, the Oktoberfest, a three-day event will feature popular artists like Nyashinski, Kaligraph Jones, Wakadinali among others.
The Oktoberfest lineup includes a mix of household names and upcoming performers and promises to be a mouth-watering experience for partygoers.
About Octoberfest
Octoberfest is a beer festival that began in Munich, Germany at around 1810.
However, the 2023 October fest is an East African affair as it began in South Sudan, before extending to Tanzania and Uganda.

“What started off as Kenya’s beer festival, has now expanded beyond borders to tap into Uganda, Tanzania, and South Sudan’s vibrant culture,” Tusker noted in their website.
“This year, Oktoberfest East Africa edition will bring magic in the form of a celebration of East African culture. People from across all walks will come and see how we do beer, food, music, dance, fashion, art and games – at the biggest beer festival East Africa has experienced yet,” the company added.
According to the organizers, the 2023 event aims at leaving a positive impact across the region by offering opportunities to vendors, artists, and event partners to showcase their products and services.
Notably, a similar event took place in Kenya in 2022, attracting more than 20,000 people.
