The Public Service Commission (PSC) has advertised vacant positions in eight ministries and state departments.
In an advert on Tuesday May 14, PSC published the career opportunities with the minimum qualifications and the process of how interested candidates can apply.
“Applications are invited from qualified persons for the positions shown below,” read the advert in parts.
The vacancies are open in the following ministries and state departments: Broadcasting and Telecommunication, Medical Services, Internal Security and National Administration, Defence, Co-operatives, Environment and Climate Change, Labour and Skill Development and Asals and Regional Development.
PSC announced one vacancy for the position of communications secretary or the national communications secretariat.
Medical Services
The Commission advertised one vacancy each for 22 posts under this state department.
This includes deputy director general for health, director health management-curative and nursing services, director health management-family health services and director health management-health financing, digital health, policy and research.
Additionally, PSC advertised vacancies for the following senior deputy directors, health management: Curative Services (Clinical Services), Curative Services (National Health Referral and Emergency Services), Curative Services (Pathology and Forensic Services), Curative Services (Oral Health, Eye Health and Hearing Care) and Curative Services (Nursing Services).
Under the Family Health Services, the Commission invited applications for the position of senior deputy directors in the following dockets: Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health; HIV/STI/VH Prevention and Control; Cancer and Non- Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control Management; National Vaccinations Services and Mental Health.
“Interested and qualified persons are required to make their applications online through the Commission website; www.publicservice.go.ke or jobs portal: www.pscjobs.go.ke so as to reach the Commission on or before 4th June 2024 (latest 5pm East African Time),” PSC said.

PSC also announced similar openings under vacancies in the following areas: Health Financing; Digital Health, Informatics, and Innovations and Health, Policy, Research and Relations,
Senior deputy directors are also needed to take charge of Traditional and Alternative Medicine, Quality Assurance and Market Shaping, Management and Therapeutics categorized under Health Products and Technology.
PSC also announced vacancies for a Medical Specialist and a senior deputy director infrastructure, equipment, and projects management.
Besides, the Commission advertised 177 vacancies for deputy county commissioner II, 100 registered nurses III and six pharmacists.
Public Service Cooperatives Jobs
PSC invited applications for senior deputy commissioner for co-operative development (3), deputy commissioner for co-operative development (5), assistant commissioner for co-operative development (9) and assistant director for co-operative audit (2).
Environment and Climate Change
The Commission advertised vacancies for the following posts: meteorologist (39), climate change officer (2), assistant director, meteorological department (3), deputy director environmental waste management and pollution control (2) and deputy director, multi-lateral environmental agreements (2).
PSC announced one opening for the positions of a secretary (environment), director environmental policy and research regulations, director environmental waste management and pollution control and director meteorological services training institute and research.
Candidates are also invited to apply for the position of assistant director climate change (carbon market), climate change (greenhouse gas inventories), environmental policy and strategic initiatives.

Labour and Skill Development
Public Service Commission advertised 105 vacancies for the position of occupational safety and health officer and ten nursing officer (II).
Other vacancies include medical officer (8), productivity officer II (6), registrar (3), labour market research and analysis officer II (8) and labour market research and analysis officer assistant III (4).
In Asals, PSC announced one opening each for two positions i.e director, community integration and peace building and director research and partnership.
