Why Liverpool Need Arsenal, Man City ‘Crisis’ to Win Premier League

Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp conceded that Liverpool needs a collapse from Arsenal and Manchester City to win the Premier League after he tasted defeat Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

The Reds faced defeat for the first time in his nine visits after Everton thrashed them 2-0 leaving the Reds’ dreams as Premier League winner hanging by a thread.

Premier League title glory is all that is left for Liverpool following exits in the FA Cup and Europa League, but this now looks a distant possibility.

Liverpool trail Arsenal by three points with four matches remaining and are two points behind City, after Pep Guardiola’s side beat Brighton 4-0 on Thursday.

“You can read the table. We need a crisis at City and Arsenal, and we need to win football games,” said Klopp, who is nearing the end of his tenure at Anfield.

However, if Manchester City win their one game in hand, the champions would move five points clear of Klopp’s side.

At the moment, Arsenal leads the table with 77 points, followed by Manchester City with 76 points and Liverpool with 74 points.

What Liverpool Stands At

Liverpool will expect Arteta’s side to lose one of their remaining four matches and to have one draw.

The Reds side will also have to expect Manchester City to lose its next match in hand to revive their title hopes.

Klopp has transformed Liverpool into one of England’s top teams since his appointment in 2015.

The Reds have amassed 27 points after falling behind in the Premier League alone this season but have seen their luck run out after falling behind to Crystal Palace and Everton in shock defeats over the past 10 days.
