Renowned entertainer Allan Ochieng also known as Hype Ballo has been charged with the murder of a Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) officer, Felix Kelian Kintosi.
In a statement released on April 22, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) noted that Allan pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him.
“Allan Ochieng alias Hype Ballo was charged today at Kiambu High Court with the murder of Felix Kelian Kintosi, a DCI officer attached to DCI Dagoretti,” reads the DCI statement.
However, ODPP led by prosecution counsel Jenifer Ndeda, submitted an application for his detention until the Probation and Aftercare completes a social inquiry report.
“Allan Ochieng denied all the charges leveled against him. However, ODPP through prosecution counsel Jenifer Ndeda filed an application for his detention pending the completion of a social inquiry report by Probation and Aftercare,” added ODPP.
As such, Lady Justice Dorah Chepkwony allowed the prosecution’s application and remanded the accused person for seven more days at Nairobi remand prison.

Hype Ballo was apprehended alongside six others, including Dj Joe Mfalme, in connection with the murder of Felix Kintosi.
However, the famous DJ Joe and five other suspects subsequently released and transformed into prosecution witnesses.
A move that was not received well by some of DJ Joe’s fans as they felt that he had sold him out especially since he is a member of his crew.
The ODPP also confirmed that the hearing for bail application is scheduled for May 2, 2024.
