The British Oxygen Company (BOC) Kenya has announced the resignation of its long serving Finance Director Arthur Kamau who has served the company for 14 years.
BOC, which is part of the Linde Company announced his resignation in a statement on September 27, 2024.
“The Board of Directors of BOC Kenya PLC announces the resignation of Mr. Arthur Kamau as Finance Director of the Company with effect from 30 September 2024,” read part of the statement.
“Mr. A. Kamau was appointed Finance Director in 2010. During a period spanning nearly 14 years he served the board and the company with utmost dedication and commitment.”
The BOC Board thanked him for his years of service and at the same time attributed the great transformations of the finance department to him.
During his time in the Finance department, the board reports that BOC has witnessed strengthening of internal controls and compliance, in addition to nurturing finance talent through coaching and monitoring.
At the same time, the board has announced that his replacement as the Finance Director will be announced in due course upon the appointment by the BOC Kenya PLC Board of Directors.
The chairman and the board further extended their sincere appreciation to Kamau for his invaluable contributions and wished him success in his future endeavors.
Kamau has extensive experience in financial management and has served in various senior management roles over the last eleven years in the manufacturing industry.
He once held a similar position as Director of Finance in Diversey Eastern and Central Africa Limited.

Arthur is a graduate of Economics and Business Studies from Kenyatta University. He trained as an accountant with Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (KPMG) Kenya, which is one of the big four accounting organizations.
BOC Kenya History
BOC Kenya Company was established in Mombasa, Kenya, in 1940. The Company takes pride as a leading supplier of industrial, medical and special gases in East Africa.
Later in 1947, the company started operations in Nairobi before expanding to Kisumu, Kampala, Mwanza and Dar-es-Salaam. The Company was listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange in 1969.
BOC Holdings UK is the Company’s immediate majority shareholder, which became a member of the Linde Group in 2002.

The Company’s Portfolio
The company has a rich portfolio in the Kenyan context. The Portfolio includes dozens of different gases and mixtures, as well as related equipment and services.
BOC’s services also cut across a large spectrum both in the public and private hospitals, and food processors.
In addition, its scope of work includes civil and mechanical engineering contracts, motor vehicle body builders, hotels and restaurants, as well as the informal business sector (“Jua Kali”) inclusive of small and medium enterprises.
