Popular TikToker Brian Chira was arrested after radio personality and influencer Azziad Nasenya sued him over defamation.
In an interview with Brian Chira, Mungai Eve revealed that Chira is now in police custody after detectives drove him to Nairobi from Nakuru.
Azziad Nasenya accused Brian Chira of insulting her on TikTok. He also shared Azziad Nasenyas’ contact information to the public.
Brian Chira took to TikTok to claim that Azziad Nasenya is indecent and went ahead to insult her saying he has receipts and videos to prove his sentiments.
Furthermore, he dared her to sue him, and he threatened to expose the evidence of her claims online.
However, no video has been exposed or receipt given after readngi out her contact details and leaving the clip online.
According to Azziad’s Lawyer Gertrude Kibare from Johnson and Partners Advocates, Brian Chira sharing her number on TikTok has caused her client harassment from the public.

The lawyer said that defamation can damage one’s reputation since no one can convince the public that whatever weas said is not true.
She argued that Brian Chira infringed Azziad’s right to privacy and lowered her reputation.

What defamation means
Defamation is any false information that harms the reputation of a person, bbusiness,or organization.
According to the Kenyan Law, Defamation Act Chapter 36 of the Constitution, Section 15 states:
“In any action for libel or slander in respect of words consisting partly of allegations of fact and partly of expression of opinion a defense of fair comment shall not fail by reason only that the truth of every allegation of fact is not proved of the expression of opinion is fair comment having regard to such of the facts alleged or referred to in the words complained of are proved.”
The defense of fair comment entails comments on matters that are of public interest. The defense applies to comments and not statement of facts. The facts upon which the comments are based must be true or true.
