The Shoke Shoke Festival that was to take place on July 29 will now happen on September 9 due to the ongoing anti-government protests in Kenya.
In a press statement on 20 July, the organizers of the festival appreciated the fans for their support and enthusiasm toward the festival.
Furthermore, the organizers assured fun-loving Kenyans that Nigeria’s sensational Ruger and Sun-El of South Africa will perform on 9 September.
“Due to the ongoing political unrest and ‘Maandamano’ demonstrations in Nairobi, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the festival from July 29 to September 9.
All performing acts, including the headliners Ruger and Sun-El musician from Nigeria, are set to entertain fans on the new festival date,” the statement read.
At the same time, Kenyan top artists will also perform at the event which will take place at the Uhuru Gardens, along Lang’ata Road.
Additionally, the organizers maintained that they value the safety of all those planning to show up for the extravaganza.

“The safety and well-being of our suppliers, vendors, artists, partners and most importantly you-our valued attendee-are of utmost importance to us.
We believe that moving the festival forward to future dates will ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
While this decision wasn’t taken lightly, we firmly believe that it is in the best interest of all to provide a serene and secure environment. Where you can fully immerse yourself in the festivities without any concerns,” organizers said in a statement.

The organizers assured their fans that the tickets will remain valid up to the next date of the event.
“Rest assured that your current tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date, and we are taking all the necessary steps to endure seamless transitions to the new date, with improved amenities and an even more unforgettable experience for each attendee.”
