A CCTV footage has revealed how a middle-aged man, suspected to be serial laptop thief, entered an office in Nairobi and made away with stolen items.
The footage seen by The Kenya Times, showed the unidentified man entering the office at around 6:05 pm and immediately beginning to ransack the place.
Further, he is seen tiptoeing around the office and after a few minutes identifying a laptop that was left on top of a desk.
He keeps searching through the items left in the office until he finds a large brown envelope.
The man is depicted in the CCTV footage moving towards an office desk in the room and picking the laptop before slipping it inside the envelop.
Afterwards, the man leaves the office without looking back or at the cameras while holding the envelop under his armpit as if he is carrying documents.

Previous Videos of the Suspect Stealing Laptops
Other videos of the man stealing laptops resurfaced after the latest revelation.
In October 2020, another CCTV footage showed the man walking into an office wearing a blue shirt and khaki pants. Before conducting his search, he faces the camera and put on a mask.
He then sits down at a desk in the corner of the office and begins looking through the documents left there.
After a while, he is seen picking up a laptop and slipping it into an enveloped he also picked from the office. he casually walks away after.
Also, in a separate video in 2019, the man is depicted entering an unknown building in the city and using the elevator to get to an office.
Shortly after, he is seen looking through the items left behind in the office and picking up a brown envelop.
He then puts a laptop inside and leave the premises holding the envelop as if he was holding documents.

Another Laptop Thief Captured by CCTV
On January 2024, CCTV cameras captured a suspect arriving at a hotel in Nairobi on a boda boda while carrying a bag. He was then seen walking towards the entrance which a security guard was manning.
Further, the suspect entered the building and into the conference room and started stealing the laptops in the vicinity while stashing them in his bag.
He then left the room with the stolen items. One of the employees at the building came into the hall to replace the water bottles and noticed that the laptops were missing.
Concerns about such cases and phone snatching are also common in other parts of the country especially in urban centers.
However, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have asked Kenyans to remain vigilant and expose such cases to help catch the suspects.
