Tanzania Gospel musician, Christina Shusho has cleared the air on allegations circulating on social media concerning her marriage.

In a statement shared on her official X account, Shusho said several online platforms are using her name and pictures to spread false content, while others are outright abusive.

She addressed members of the press, fans, and the public at large in her statement noting that it was solely meant to clarify speculations making rounds about her.

“I know and understand there are a lot of questions regarding an interview I did back in 2020 and a testimony that I gave in 2022 in a women’s Conference. All your questions will be answered in Due course and the truth will come out,” stated Shusho.

Additionally, the musician said the matter is being handled by her lawyers, and respective authorities saying appropriate action will be taken.

“When the right time comes for me to address matters regarding my marriage, I will tell it all as most of what is being spread is being done without facts. I believe that the truth always sets us free,” she added.

“Lastly, I thank all those who have shown immense support and ask those that don’t have the facts to be patient as the truth will come out. Thank you and God bless you.”

Shusho’s Testimony on Her Marriage

During the 2022 women conference, Shusho in her speech shared that she was a victim of forced married at the age of 19.

“I got married at 19 years old, quite young. After completing my form four, my mother saw me, this beautiful girl, at home. I was exceptionally beautiful, and my mother was afraid that I might be led astray and bring shame upon the family,” she said during the All Women Conference.

Shusho further revealed that a gentleman passed by one day and told her mother that he was in love with their daughter and wished to marry her.

Her mother did not hesitate and replied, “Take her, take her, so she doesn’t spoil here.'”

“At the very young age of 19 I got married. I am here to testify I did not know anything about love, and I didn’t know there are many women. But because of circumstances I had to and that is why am telling you I was born a victim.”

Christina Shusho Talks on Reason for Separation with Husband

In yet another interview in 2020, Christina Shusho spoke on her decision to remove her wedding ring and separate from her pastor husband, John Shusho.

In the interview the renowned artiste attributed her actions to her strong commitment to her ministry calling.

“I have always been authentic and truthful. The reality is that it’s just a mission. Nothing else has changed. The assignment God gave me at this time required me to leave where I was. I had to leave to fulfil the mission,” she revealed in the 2020 interview.

“Weh! Getting married is part of what God brings together, but what He has put in both of you is different. We should not lie to each other,” she explained.

According to her, what is needed is for both the husband and wife to come to an agreement and get to know what each of them is gifted.

“This is what hurts so many women who try to follow what their husbands are called to do, and you end up forgetting your calling. Let’s be careful that we don’t kill what we are called to do by trying to impress each other.”
