Former Mungiki Leader Maina Njenga has revealed that retired President Uhuru Kenyatta is planning a political rally where he will name his successor.
Speaking to the media, Njenga said Uhuru will unveil the new Mt. Kenya’s kingpin in December in a scheduled rally in Nyeri County.
“This meeting that is going to be held in Nyeri will be the mother of all meetings. The purpose of that meeting is for former President Uhuru to come so that he can say who he is supposed to give the mantle of leadership of Mt. Kenya,” said Njenga.
Moreover, Njenga explained all the residents of the region including Deputy President (DP) Rigathi Gachagua will be welcome at the meeting.
Further, he explained that it is the people of Mt. Kenya who will take over from Uhuru as the political leader of the vote rich region.
“It is not me who is saying this, let the people decide. If they agree it is them so, be it, if they agree it will be me it will be myself and everything will be done,” he explained.
Additionally, Njenga asked journalist to stop referring to him as the “Ex-Mungiki leader” explaining that he is a principal of the Azimio One Kenya Alliance Coalition.

Njenga’s New Title
“As we move forward, I don’t want you to start addressing me like EX Mungiki leader, I am a principal of Azimio.
You should address me in a manner of good understanding, tell these media people to address me as Azimio Co-principal,” stated Njenga.
In addition, Njenga mentioned that he is a party leader and will soon launch a new political formation at the Kasarani International Stadium.
The announcements by Njenga might mean that he would face off with DP Gachagua in the battle for the Mt Kenya region.

Gachagua to Uhuru
On Friday, October 6, DP Gachagua revealed that he will look for Uhuru to iron out their differences for the sake of the Mt. Kenya region.
Gachagua who has been a sharp critic of Uhuru said he decided to work with the former president to unite the region and bury the 2022 election differences.
“As Mt Kenya leaders, we have agreed not to be fighting him and I’m planning to hold talks with him. I have ordered everyone to respect him, and he is also doing good to keep his peace,” said Gachagua.
Recently, the DP has been advocating for a stable, peaceful, and united Mt. Kenya region.
Also, Gachagua previously accused Uhuru of betrayal when he imposed Raila on the region despite his agreement with President William Ruto in 2013.
