Manoah Esipisu, the outgoing Kenyan High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, has been awarded the prestigious Honorary Professorship by the University of Manchester.
This recognition came as he marked the end of his diplomatic tour, during which he served the Kenyan government with distinction.
The news was first shared by his wife, Waithiegeni Kanguru-Esipisu on her X account where she expressed her expressed her pride in her husband’s achievement, stating that it was “very well deserved” and a “fantastic ending to the tour of duty.”
“Incredibly proud of my husband and friend, Balozi Manoah Esipisu on being awarded Honorary Professorship of the prestigious University of Manchester. Very well deserved. Fantastic ending to the tour of duty,” read her post.
Manoah on his part acknowledged the support received from various entities for their backing in research on esophageal cancer conducted by the University of Manchester and Kenyatta University Hospital.

Manoah Esipisu’s Final Remarks
In his final statement, Esipisu expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve in diplomacy and communication, highlighting the exceptional teamwork and moments he shared with his colleagues.
He specifically thanked President William Ruto for entrusting him with the position early in his administration.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed Esipisu as Kenya’s High Commissioner to the UK in 2018, and his tenure has been marked by notable achievements and contributions to Kenya’s diplomatic efforts.
Esipisu who served as State House Spokesperson was also recognized as the Diplomat of the Year 2024 from Africa, alongside other influential diplomats based in the United Kingdom.
