EABL Names Oktobafest’s Venues After Canceling Main Nairobi Event

The Tusker Oktobafest Regional Activations have been unveiled. The declaration comes with exciting bear offers and music experiences in select outlets that will see consumers enjoy throughout the month.

In a press release in Nairobi, on October 9, 2024, Tusker Oktobafest, Kenya’s largest beer festival, affirmed unveiling a series of regional activations and events set to take place in 10 different outlets across five regions.

“We are thrilled to bring Tusker Oktobafest to different regions across the country, allowing our consumers to experience the excitement of beer, music and culture,” said Christine Kariuki, Marketing Manager, Tusker.

Moreover, the activations are scheduled to take place on October 19th, 26th, and November 2nd, 2024, giving beer lovers and consumers the opportunity to experience the month of beer within their local communities.

Prior to this announcement, on September 30, 2024, East African Breweries Limited PLC (EABL) apologized to festivalgoers due to distributions that were experienced on day two of the Walker Town 2024 festival.

The technical challenges caused by rain and other conditions affected the sound system, thus causing significant delays leading to the cancellation of the event.

Despite the failure of the Walker Town 2024 Festival beer enthusiasts will have an opportunity to enjoy their favorite brands on the selected dates at special retail prices in designated bars.

The same offers will be available in restaurants across the country, including Nairobi, Rift Valley, Central Kenya, and the Lake regions.

Further, the Tusker Marketing Manager added, “This year, our goal is to ensure that the celebration reaches beyond Nairobi, delivering on our commitment to showcase the best of beer and local talent throughout Kenya.”

Regional Activation Offers

The company echoed that as part of celebrating the month of beer, there will be a range of offers and experiences to reward beer consumers across Kenya. These promotions will feature discounts, online flash sales, and exclusive experiences, all aimed at celebrating Kenya’s rich beer culture.

Furthermore, beer lovers can also look for flash sales on the Ke.thebar and other leading e-commerce platforms. During the activations, customers will be able to purchase five bottles of Tusker Lager or Balozi Lager for KES 1,000 and four bottles of any other beer brand including Tusker Malt, Guinness, White Cap Lager or Tusker Cider for Ksh1,000.

This year marks a shift for Oktobafest as the festival expands its reach beyond Nairobi to celebrate the rich cultural diversity across Kenya.

Additionally, through a blend of music, food, and art with beer at the heart of the experience, the regional expansion offers a platform for local talent, vendors, and artists to showcase their work thus building local economies. The company promised to reveal details of the artist line-up soon.
