Police officers from Nairobi are investigating the death of a 64-year-old German citizen in a hotel toilet along River Road, Nairobi.
He was identified as Edmund Leicht and was found seated on the hotel toilet basin by cleaners reporting to duty on the evening of March 17th.
One of the workers of Decasa Hotel discovered him and checked on him when he failed to leave his room for the routine cleaning activities.
She found him seated on the toilet and thought he was deep asleep. Her attempts to wake him proved futile, and she raised the alarm. Police officers who responded to the scene confirmed that he was dead. The body did not bear any signs of physical injury at the time of its discovery, and the circumstances surrounding his death are still unclear.
According to the police, Mr. Edmund’s pockets contained medicine used to control high blood pressure in his pockets as they were moving the body to the mortuary, awaiting autopsy.

This is the 4th German National to die in Kenya in a span of one week. The separate incidents are unrelated, and different circumstances surround all the deaths. The police confirmed that the families of the deceased had been informed, and the German Embassy is aware and that their officials are looking into the incidents.
In one of the incidents, 80-year-old Wilko Milicinovic was discovered in a pool of blood by his worker in Kitengela. According to the police, who responded, his house had been ransacked, and the killers made away with his laptop.
The murder was brutal as the deceased had deep cuts on his head and hands, and a rope tied his legs. One of his eyes was also gauged out. He lived alone, although his son and daughter-in-law lived in a separate house within the same compound.
Police are still investigating the incident.
