The National Irrigation Authority (NIA) and the National Land Commission (NLC) have announced the public auction of vehicles, disposable items and other assorted items.
NLC in a notice on Tuesday informed interested bidders that the process will begin at 10 am on 28th June 2024. The items set to be auctioned include motor vehicles, ICT and other machinery in the catalogue on the authority’s website.

“The National Land Commission is in the process of disposing of unserviceable, obsolete, surplus motor vehicles ICT and other assorted items on 28th June 2024 starting 10.00,” stated NLC.
Bidders are requested to pay a refundable deposit for each item to determine the bidding number before the auctioning date.

Further, they should present their bank slips paid to the NLC bank account to the NLC office located on the 18th floor of Upper Hill Chambers during normal working hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
NIA Auctioning
The auction exercise will be held on June 18 at the Mwea Irrigation Scheme, June 20th at the Hola Irrigation Scheme, June 21st at the Bura Irrigation Scheme, June 24th at Bunyala Irrigation Scheme, and June 26th at Head Office Nairobi, with all exercises commencing at 10.00 a.m.

At the Mwea Irrigation Scheme, the items set to be auctioned include motor vehicles, heavy machinery, assorted spare parts, assorted scraps, and assorted tyres while the auction at Holla Irrigation Scheme will include heavy machinery, motorcycles, and assorted farm equipment.
NIA’s Bura Irrigation Scheme will auction Office equipment, heavy machinery, assorted farm implements, motorcycles and vehicles while the head office will auction motor vehicles, heavy machinery and assorted tyres.
Auctioned items will be available for viewing in their respective stations from 12th June 2024 to the date of auctioning during working hours.
Deposit Payable for Vehicles
Interested bidders will be required to pay a refundable deposit for vehicles, tractors and heavy equipment and Ksh 5000 for other items on the auctioning day to obtain a bidding number which will be used as an entry pass.
In addition, bidders will be required to pay a non-refundable fee of Ksh 500 at any Irrigation Authority Office to obtain a catalogue of vehicles and all disposable items on sale by auction.

The bidders must pay a deposit of 25% of the purchase price at the fall of the hammer on the auction date and then a balance of 75% within 7 days, failure to which the item will be disposed of at the sole discretion of NIA.
Moreover, the purchased item must be collected within 7 days at NIA’s stations after full payment in either cash or bank cheque in the Name of National Irrigation Authority.
