The government of Kenya through the National Employment Authority has announced openings for jobs in the healthcare sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement on November 30, the Authority invited applications from Kenyans with relevant qualifications for the jobs.
Notably, the jobs targeting nurses and midwives will see qualified candidates move to the middle east country for a period of one year.
Qualifications for the Jobs
For one to qualify for these jobs, they have to be Kenyan Citizens and hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing sciences or Midwifery.
They should have RN-BSN with critical care experience, RN-MSN, or RN-Phd/DNP (50 years and below)

Also, to qualify for the opportunity, an applicant should be registered and be a licensed member of the Nursing Council of Kenya, in good standing.
Furthermore, a valid Police Clearance Certificate as well as a minimum 1-year nursing/midwifery experience in a hospital is also required.
Additionally, they should have proficiency in writing and speaking English.
An applicant should be medically fit and have a valid Kenyan passport.
Nonetheless, the National Employment Authority urged all interested candidates to register as job seekers on their portal through which they will be able to apply.

The application deadline as per the advertisement is on or before December 31, 2023.

Similarly, the Ministry of Labour called on Kenyans to apply to work in Saudi Arabia as nurses and midwifery professionals in July 2023.
The ministry stated that the contract would last for a year and would be renewed annually.
Those successful were to be compensated a minimum salary of Ksh 176,904 monthly.
Also, the working period would not exceed 48 hours a week.
Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Florence Bore said the government had secured a partnership between Nairobi and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to enhance safe and productive labor migration between the two countries.

According to Bore, the partnership which also encloses the Ministry of Health, will facilitate further employment of thousands of Kenyans in various economic sectors in the Gulf nation.
Ruto’s Deal
The job openings come after President William Ruto promised to secure opportunities for Kenyans abroad.
Earlier, on October 1, Ruto announced that he would be traveling to Saudi Arabia to sign an agreement that allowed Kenya and the Aarab nation to employ 500,000 Kenyans.
He stated that the employment opportunities would not include domestic work and instead include professional and skilled jobs.
“Those from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) want workers. Next month I will be travelling to Saudi Arabia to sign a deal in which 500,000 workers are needed.
“We are concluding the bilateral labor agreements and almost 12 countries want Kenyans to work there, and we have made changes. Kenyans won’t go to do domestic work. We have signed bilateral agreements that include semi-skilled, skilled and professional jobs,” he stated.
