The government through the State Department for Youth Affairs and Creative Economy has announced vacancies for the National Youth Opportunities Towards Advancement (NYOTA) Project.
NYOTA is a World-bank funded program similar to the Kenya Youth Employment Opportunities Project (KYEOP) which the government said is set to revolutionize youth talents into more productive skills and assist them engage in self-employment.
NYOTA in a notice on Tuesday, October 1, announced opportunities for qualified and interested individuals to apply. “The Government of Kenya (GoK), through the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports seeks the services of these Specialists to undertake the tasks listed in their respective terms of reference,” the announcement read in part.
Moreover, the announcement further echoed, “The attention of interested Individual Consultants is drawn to Paragraphs 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulation for IPF Borrowers” dated July 2016 and revised in September 2023 (5th Edition) setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.”

How to Apply for NYOTA Vacancy
Eligible and interested candidates are asked to obtain more information from the Project Supply Chain Management Office at NYOTA offices, Bruce House, Standard Street, 3rd Floor Northern wing Room No. 321 during official working hours (8.00 a.m.-5.00 p.m.) and days.
Moreover, the candidates will be required to complete the REOI document (paginated and stamped/signed on each page) and enclose it in a plain sealed envelope marked with the tender reference number.
Further, address the sealed documents to the Principal Secretary, State Department of Youth Affairs and Creative Economy, P. O. Box 34303-00100, Nairobi.
In addition, the documents are to be strictly deposited in the Tender Box at Bruce House 3rd Floor to be received on or before Wednesday 23rd October 2024, at 10.00 hours.
The successful consultants will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, but will be available to travel to other counties.
Selection Criteria
On the other hand, the selection of a consultant will be in accordance with the Individual Consultants’ Selection method set out in the World Bank “Procurement Regulation”.

Further, the department announces that the Request for Expression of Interest (REOIs) will be closed and opened immediately thereafter in the presence of the candidates or their representatives at the NYOTA Boardroom, Bruce House, 3rd Floor Standard Street Nairobi.

The World Bank NYOTA Program
The National Youth Opportunities towards Advancement (NYOTA) project is a scale-up project of the Kenya Youth Employment Opportunities Project (KYEOP) and is aimed at building on lessons acquired during the implementation of the KYEOP project.
Moreover, the major objective of the project is to increase employment opportunities for earnings and savings for targeted youth in the 47 counties.
The project has four components which include improving youth employability and Supporting Youth Entrepreneurship.
In addition, it is to Support Savings for Kenyan youth in the informal sector and strengthening systems and capacity to sustain youth employment and savings initiatives.
