Ivy Namu and Raburu’s Relationship Journey
The couple announced their engagement while Ivy was expecting a second child with Raburu in 2022.
Despite the couple announcing their engagement in 2022, they had initially met in 2019 during the Hot 96 show “10 Over 10” when Ivy was a guest at the show hosted by Raburu.
During the engagement, Raburu enlisted Sol Generation’s Nvirii the Storyteller and Ben Soul to mark the engagement during the celebration of the couple’s son’s birthday.

She further expressed that the engagement was a dream come true and that she was happy to share and build a family with Raburu.
In addition, on her platforms, she frequently praised Raburu for the role he played as a father and husband, wishing that all women would have a chance to enjoy a happy marriage like she was.

Raburu and Marya Prude Divorce
Willis Raburu publicly confirmed that he had finalized his divorce from Marya in September 2022 during an interview with Radio Jambo’s Massawe Japanni.
According to Raburu, he initiated the divorce due to the realization that the relationship was no longer working for them both.
Before the divorce, the couple had lost two babies, with the latest loss to the family happening in 2019.
As Marya opened up about the divorce, she clarified that she had not initiated the proceedings and that Raburu had sent the paperwork via WhatsApp.
She explained that she received and acknowledged the call for a divorce and sent it to her lawyer.
Following the initiation of the divorce, Marya Prude and Willis Raburu agreed that all communications would be made through their lawyers.
“The Kenyan divorce process, yes, it was complex. There is a petitioner and a respondent. The respondent is the one being asked for a divorce, and the petitioner is the one filing for one. This thing was sent to me on WhatsApp, and I was like, ‘oh,’ and then you have to acknowledge it. But I knew it was coming. So I was like, ‘yes, I confirm,’ Marya noted.
Following the divorce, Marya moved back to her home as she started her recovery journey from the divorce.
