Kenyan musician Nadia Mukami has publicly confirmed the end of a long-term relationship with fellow artist Ali Yusuf, popularly known as Arrow Bwoy, and shared a statement shedding light on the challenges that led to the split.

In an Instagram story titled “POSTPARTUM & HEARTBREAK,” Nadia Mukami revealed that the decision to separate was made over the past few months and described it as one of the most difficult periods in her personal life.

The two artists are not only partners in life but also parents, making the separation even more complex.

Mukami said trying to balance being a mother, healing, and handling her busy career put pressure on the relationship.

She also explained that dealing with postpartum challenges, raising young children, and staying in the public eye while going through personal struggles made things even harder.

“Over the past few months, I made the difficult decision to go separate ways with my partner. This has not been an easy journey for either of us, especially because we were not only partners in life, but also parents to young children who mean the world to us,” Mukami shared.

Nadia Mukami disclosed that she had invested heavily in trying to make the relationship work, noting that she had spent over a year and a half fighting for the union, but the combination of personal and professional pressures proved overwhelming.

“I have hoped and prayed that things would have been different… Being a lady that always wanted family; I fought sooo hard but I guess I lost,” she wrote.

Despite the breakup, Mukami emphasized that both parties remain committed to raising their children together in a healthy environment. The focus, she said, is now on ensuring stability, love, and respect for their family moving forward.

Nadia stated that the two will continue to co-parent with “love, respect, and maturity” for the sake of their children’s well-being.

The message also thanked fans and supporters for standing by her through both the joyful and difficult chapters of her journey, signaling a period of healing and transition for the artist.

Nadia Mukami’s Relationship with Arrow Bwoy

Nadia Mukami and Arrow Bwoy began their public relationship in 2021 and took a step forward when Arrow Bwoy proposed to her in March 2022.

The proposal happened publicly during the launch of his album Focus at The Junction Mall in Nairobi.

The couple had ongoing discussions about a traditional wedding, including the dowry payment, but Nadia made it clear on several occasions that she still considered herself unmarried until the full set of cultural rites was completed.

In an August 2023 radio interview, Nadia Mukami claimed that Arrow Bwoy was “with her on credit.”

“I’m not married. It’s a fact. I’m not married, hajanilipa mahari (he has not paid dowry). He is with me on credit. Niko soko.”

From 2023 to early 2025, they continued to share their relationship and parenting journey publicly while facing occasional breakup rumors.

In March 2025, they announced that they had finally set a wedding date for later that year and were preparing for an exclusive, private ceremony.

However, the plans were postponed after they discovered Nadia was pregnant with their second child.

The couple welcomed their second son, Ameer Kiyan, in 2025, and the wedding was pushed to possibly 2026.
