Jomo Kenyatta Girls’ High School is a public girls’ boarding secondary school located in Nakuru County.

The school is categorized as C2 under the Competency-Based Education (CBE) framework.

The institution is registered with the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) and admits students from Nakuru County and other parts of the country through the national placement system.

From January 2026, Jomo Kenyatta Girls’ High School is among public institutions implementing the Senior School phase, admitting Grade 10 learners under the CBE system.

Learners are expected to pursue specialized pathways aligned to national guidelines, including STEM, Social Sciences, and Arts and Sports, with placement guided by performance in the Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) and individual learner interests and abilities.

Formerly, the school was a mixed secondary school. The girls’ wing was then separated from the boys’ wing in 2016.

Jomo Kenyatta Girls High School has continued to register solid and improving KCSE performance in Nakuru County.

In the KCSE 2024 examinations, the school posted a mean score of 6.726, and a high number of candidates attained grades that qualify for university admission.

The results demonstrated strength in the upper mid-range grades, particularly from B to C+.

A good proportion of candidates scored C+ and above, meeting the minimum requirement for placement to Kenyan universities through KUCCPS.

In line with Ministry of Education guidelines effective January 2026, the annual tuition fee for public senior secondary schools under the CBE is Ksh 45,054.
