The former ruling party, Jubilee has announced leadership changes in the National Executive Committee (NEC).
In a statement on Tuesday, November 21, Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni announced that the party has replaced eight NEC members appointed by President William Ruto to serve in government.
“In light of these appointments, a National Executive Committee meeting held on the 7th of November 2023 made the following changes to allow the party to continue functioning,” said Kioni.
To begin with, Deputy Secretary General Joshua Kutuny was succeeded by Yasir Noor.
Kutuny is among the latest President Ruto’s appointees.
He was appointed to serve as the Chairperson Kenya Copyright Board (KECOB0) on October 27, 2023.
Besides, former deputy party leader (outreach) Naomi Shaban was replaced by Beatrice Gambo.
President Ruto appointed Shaban as the Chairperson Tobacco Control Board on October 12, 2023.
“In this regard and by operation of law, the following Jubilee Party National Executive members who have been appointed to, and accepted various positions in Government are deemed to have resigned from their positions in the party leadership,” read the statement.
Further, Joseph Manje took over from Peter Ole Mositet as the deputy party leader (programs) after his appointment as the Chairperson of NAMATA on August 7,2020.

Additionally, Kados Muiruri was named the new deputy party leader (strategy) taking over from Angweyi Jimmy Ondieki.
Ondieki took over as the Chairperson of the National Heroes Council on October 12, 2023.
Also, former National Chairperson Nelson Dzuya was replaced by Saitoti Torome after his appointment as a member of the Non-Governmental Organization Co-ordination Board.
“We thank the government of the day for appointing our members and we wish them well in their new roles,” said Jubilee.
Jubilee Appoints Pauline & Nderitu Murithi
Former Laikipia Governor Nderitu Murithi was listed as the party’s new Business Council National Chairperson.
Murithi will replace Joel Kibe who was picked to be a member of the Council of the University of Nairobi (UON) on October 9, 2023.
In addition, Jubilee digital communication strategist Pauline Njoroge was named as the new deputy national organizing secretary.
Njoroge is taking over from Rev. Mutava Musyimi who was appointed as Presidential Task force on Churches Chairperson.

Fatuma Gedi was replaced by Maison Leshomo as Women League National Chairperson after her appointment as a member of the Commission for Revenue Allocation (CRA) on December 16, 2023.
“The same has been communicated to the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties so they can update their records accordingly,” read the statement.
Furthermore, the Jubilee quoted Section 12 of the Political Parties Act 2011 and Section 23 of the Leadership and Integrity Act 2012 which bars state officers from engaging in political activities.
