Mathira Member of Parliament Eric Wamumbi and Murang’a Women Representative Betty Maina got married on Saturday November 18 in a colourful event, where Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua played a key role.
The two lovebirds held a colorful traditional wedding which was graced by top UDA leaders including the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. The DP is said to have led the dowry negotiations.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua rocked a traditional brown shirt with white khaki pants and loafers that matched his attire.
In one of the photos at the venue, the couple donned traditional regalia in red, and they looked dazzling.
Also, the women leaders wore classy matching flowery vitenges.
Muslim ladies added flavor to the event, in their radiating cozy white hijabs.
Notably, the two lovebirds are said to have met and fell in during the campaign period after which the Mathira MP proposed to his lover in April 2023.
The proposal was the talk of the town as it was witnessed by top politicians, including Susan Kihika and Anne Waiguru among others.
Similarly, Betty took to social media to display her new ring, thanking everyone who showed up for the occasion and particularly her husband for making it happen.
“One day at a time, sweet Jesus. He makes all things beautiful in his own time. Thanks, my sisters, for organizing this wonderful surprise. My dear Eric, you rock,” she said at the time.
