Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has mourned the death of his brother, Kelvin Mwendwa Musyoka, who was popularly known as Meja, in a heartfelt message.
In a statement on February 21, Kalonzo described Kelvin as a man of humility and quiet strength who related with others with sincerity, warmth, and dignity. He said Kelvin did not seek attention, yet left a deep impact through his kindness and loyalty.
“He valued family, respected others, and carried himself with dignity. He did not seek attention, yet his presence was deeply felt. His kindness and loyalty defined him,” wrote Kalonzo Musyoka.
Kalonzo Musyoka Honors Brother’s Legacy
Kalonzo expressed gratitude to the leaders who stood with his family during the difficult moment, including Makueni Governor Mutula Kilonzo Jr., Kitui County Woman Representative Irene Kasalu, Kitui CentralMP Makali Mulu, Mwingi North MP Paul Nzengu, Advocate Ndegwa Njiru, Apostle Musili, and others who offered support.

He also extended a special message of condolence to Kelvin’s widow, Mary Mwendwa, and their son, Fabian. In his statement, Kalonzo acknowledged the immense loss they now face, assuring them that the family will stand with them and uphold Kelvin’s legacy.
“My heart goes out in a very special way to Kelvin’s dear wife, Mary Mwendwa, and his beloved son, Fabian Mwendwa. Mary, you have lost a husband and a partner,” Kalonzo said.
Kalonzo reflected on the pain of losing someone whose journey felt unfinished, noting that the family mourns not only Kelvin’s life but also the future they had envisioned for him. Despite the sorrow, he expressed gratitude for the years shared and the love Kelvin gave generously.
He ended his message with a personal tribute: “To my dear brother Meja, thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the unwavering bond we shared. You will forever remain in our hearts. Rest well, my brother. Until we meet again.”

Kalonzo Past Family Losses
In 2018, Kalonzo Musyoka mourned the passing of his father, Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu, who died that year, marking one of the most painful moments in his family’s history.
In a Facebook post, Kalonzo expressed his appreciation for those who supported his family through the loss and sent their condolences.
“It is one week today since our father, Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu, slept. As a family, we are humbled by the tremendous show of solidarity extended to us by numerous messages of sympathy; many others have come personally to condole with us,” mentioned Kalonzo.
