The princess explained that she had commenced chemotherapy sessions and was hopeful about getting positive results after the treatment.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she explained.

How William and the Kids are Dealing with the Diagnosis
Additionally, Kate, who is 42 years old, said that the news about her diagnosis had been a shock to her family.
However, she was grateful to have her husband, Prince William, by her side throughout the experience.
Also, she stated that despite the difficulties, they had found a way of telling their children, Prince George (10), Princess Charlotte(8), and Prince Louis (5) about the news without scaring them.
“William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.
“It has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be ok,” she added.

Kate Surgery and King Charles’ Diagnosis
Earlier on January 17, Kensington Palace announced that the princess would spend two weeks recovering in hospital after successfully undergoing planned abdominal surgery on January 16.
The reason for the surgery was unclear, but the palace said Kate was unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.
At the same time, King Charles III was also discharged from the same hospital after receiving treatment for an enlarged prostate.
On February 6, Buckingham Palace announced that the King was diagnosed with cancer.
Later, the King in a statement said that it was disturbing to learn that his diagnosis has helped people understand how organizations supporting cancer patients operate.
“It is equally heartening to hear how sharing my own diagnosis has helped promote public understanding and shine a light on the work of all those organizations which support cancer patients and their families across the UK and wider world.
“My lifelong admiration for their tireless care and dedication is all the greater as a result of my own personal experience,” noted the King.
