Kenya Broadcasting cooperation (KBC) has advertised a managerial post that has remained vacant for the past one year.
Since March 19, 2022, Samuel Maina has been the acting Managing Director for the national broadcaster, after Naim Bilal’s tenure ended.
“The Corporation wishes to fill the following vacant position with a dynamic, self-driven and results-oriented professional to achieve the corporate Objectives,” read the statement in part.

Likewise, the state Cooperation under the ministry of information, Communications and Digital Economy is inviting candidates with specific qualifications.
KBC Managing Director Qualifications
Interested applicants must hold a master’s degree in either Media Studies, Communication, Marketing, or Business Administration.
Additionally, the state media noted that applicants with background in Engineering, Strategic Management and Project management from recognized universities are eligible.
Likewise, according to the state corporation, applicants must be members of a professional body in their area of specialization.
Similarly, the firm highlighted strategic leadership or senior management and Cooperate governance training from a recognized institution as an added advantage.
Notably, interested applicants must have at least ten years’ experience in a comparable organization be it in the private or public sector.
Similarly, applicants should have at least served in a media house for five years as a senior manager and with experience of working with the board.
How to Apply
According to KBC, shortlisted candidates who will be contacted should comply with chapter 6 of the constitution which states leadership and integrity.
Further applicants will submit the relevant clearance documents at the time of the interview.
Applicants are required to submit a cover letter demonstrating their qualifications for the post.
Likewise, applicants should attach a detailed CV, copies of academic certificates and professional accreditation.

Other documents include national identity card or Passport as well as contact information of at least three referees.
Notably, the applications should be sent to KBC Board Chair and should be clearly marked, ‘Application for the Position of Managing Director.’
