The Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC) has announced the introduction of luxury travel services on Madaraka Express passenger train.
In a notice on June 26, KRC Managing Director Philip Mainga said the Premium Class Service is not just about high-end amenities, but it primarily focuses on providing passengers with a pleasant and luxurious experience.

“In the spirit of Constant innovation and improvement, Madaraka Express Passenger Service is set to experience an upgrade through the introduction of the Kenya Railways Premium Service,” Mainga said in a notice.
“The service is for every passenger who resonates with sophisticated and luxury travel. Imagine a travel experience where every minute detail is well thought out to suit the needs of experience where every minute detail that the KR Premium Service is all about.”

About the Luxury Train Services
The train will accommodate 28 passengers, providing ample legroom and personal space.
The seats are designed to recline fully, ensuring ultimate relaxation throughout the journey.

In addition to extra storage options for travelers with additional baggage, the KR Premium Service includes designated shoe storage space for neatly storing shoes.

The train also has automated window shutters and seats that can rotate to face any direction transforming the journey into a luxurious experience.
Segregated from other compartments, the premium coach offers privacy and exclusivity, allowing passengers to work, relax, or simply enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Furthermore, the premium Class passengers will have access to VIP lounges and benefit from priority boarding and disembarkation at terminals, adding to the convenience of their journey.
The Business class passengers will be treated to premium dining, enhancing their travel experience even further.
Kenya Railways Introducing Madaraka Express Passenger Services
The first railway line to be constructed was the meter gauge railway whose main purpose was to provide Uganda with access to the sea, thereby facilitating trade.

Madaraka Express Passenger Services was introduced in 2017 which became a household favorite among travelers.
The service has transported an impressive 12 million passengers.
