Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has warned unnamed individuals behind the chaos that rocked Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza‘s event on Sunday, September 17, in Igembe South.
Kawira had attended a church service in Baite Family Fellowship Outreach on Sunday.
While at the event, the governor donated mattresses gumboots, iron sheets and a cow towards helping the less fortunate in society.
After the event, some goons slaughtered the cow and burnt the other items she had donated including mattresses.
“It is with great regret that we must address the recent incident that took place during our Baite family fellowship outreach from Makiri in Maua Igembe South.
We experienced violence where part of our donations was destroyed including a cow that was meant to benefit a needy family,” she stated.
Kawira in her statement condemned violence and said that it was not right to disrupt any charitable effort that is meant to help the needy.
“We want to express our deep disappointment and condemnation of such retrogressive behavior.

It is unacceptable to disrupt a charitable effort aimed at helping people in need,” Kawira added.
Additionally, Kawira called upon the government to come in and take the necessary measures against the criminals.
“We strongly believe that the perpetrators of these heinous acts need to face the full force of the law. We must ensure this never happens again in our society.”
Despite the chaos, Kawira promised to continue with her mission of helping the needy and take part in improving the lives of the people.
“We will continue to reach out to the less fortunate and play our part in improving people’s lives,” she assured her supporters.

Also, he pointed out that all who were involved should also be investigated.
“Investigations will also ensue on the planners, abettors and financiers of the violence witnessed in the Igembe region of the Count,” Kindiki added.
Finally, he urged all the Kenyans to carry out their activities lawfully and peacefully.
“No violence whatsoever will be tolerated as it undermines national security, the rule of law and makes our Country look backward.”
