The lady who was captured in a viral video confronting a Nairobi County enforcement officer popularly known as Kanjo inside her own car drove all the way to Kitengela.
In an interview, the lady revealed that she drove all the way to Kajiado out of her fury with the city’s law enforcers.
According to her, the behavior of county askaris hopping into people’s cars in Nairobi is common and often leads to time wasting.
In the morning when the video was captured, she had just arrived in the CBD around the Jevanjee area.
Unlike other days, a lady who works for the Nairobi County Government and controls issues relating to parking along the street was not present.
Then suddenly, the county askari stormed her car- a trend the lady revealed is common in parts of the CBD.

Unknown to him, however, that particular encounter would be one to remember as the lady who confessed to having a bad morning was determined to teach him a lesson.
Moreover, she locked the car’s doors, leaving the man stranded and pleading with the lady to open the door.
“I locked him inside of my car and told him I had a lot of free time so we could ride because you really wanted to waste time. I was actually willing to go on a long road trip,” she recounted.
Were it not for the fact that she was pressed for time, she noted, she could have taken a longer ride with the kanjo.
What’s more, the video of the kanjo desperately pleading for an opportunity to leave went viral with Kenyans criticizing county askaris for what appeared to be a common sight in the city.
City Hall calls out Kanjo
In a statement on Thursday, October 19, Nairobi County Secretary Patrick Analo called out the county officer for what he called “overstepping” in his duty.
He asserted that it is an offense for anyone to enter a car without the owner’s consent as was explained in the video.

At the same time, the county secretary maintained that the lady was also wrong. According to Analo, the lady should have filed a report to a nearby police station.
Furthermore, on Thursday, the lady revealed that her TikTok account was suspended after the video went viral.
