The government of Kenya has confirmed 42 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions that are legally mandated to award certificates and diplomas.
According to the Ministry of Education, the institutions, which include national polytechnics and specialized colleges, are part of the official placement system for diploma, certificate, and artisan courses.
Approved TVET institutions are intended to strengthen quality assurance in the TVET sector and guide students toward credible training centers across the country.
Meanwhile, the clarification aims to protect learners from enrolling in unapproved institutions and to ensure that qualifications obtained are valid for employment and further education, while strengthening trust in the TVET sector.
