Lawyer Morara Kebaso has revealed how a fire engine which was allegedly deployed to distract his meeting during a tour in Nyeri County.
Kebaso was in Nyeri on Sunday after he formally began his nationwide tour as he embarked on providing civic education to Kenyans.
Morara in a statement on Monday, September 9, exposed a fire engine that disrupted his meeting at Kiawara market, where he was leading a discussion on national issues.
In the video seen by The Kenya Times, the lawyer, a fierce critic of the Kenya Kwanza government, was addressing residents on issues of national importance when the fire engine, with flashing lights but no siren, cut through the crowd.
The video shows the fire engine maneuvering through the crowd, seemingly without any emergency to attend to.
“Let’s see if they will knock it down. Yes, continue disrupting. When we needed you to put out the fire you weren’t available.
Now is when you’re showing up you want to knock down our vehicle,” Kebaso, who was addressing residents from the roof of his vehicle, condemned the fire engine saying they should have used the same bravado to put out the fire at Hillside Academy, Endarasha instead of intimidating him.
At the same time, residents could be seen expressing their frustration with the disturbance, which interrupted the public meeting that Kebaso was leading.
Morara Kebaso Responds to Fire Engine Incident in Nyeri
The lawyer while responding to the incident said that the vehicle’s erratic behavior, including reversing and speeding towards them, was highly inappropriate.
According to him, the fire engine was specifically sent to disrupt the meeting but highlighted that he remained firm in the discussions despite the disruption.

Morara while highlighting that he has noted that there was no hospital in the whole of Kieni Subcounty said he will write to the CD health and County Governor on the issue.
“Someone decided to send a fire engine to come and disrupt our meeting with the people at Kiawara market. The vehicle was headed nowhere to do nothing and even left the tarmac to follow us into the market center where we were discussing issues of national importance. It kept reversing and speeding towards us like a charging bull, ” said Kebaso
“Meanwhile I am asking the people of Mount Kenya to wake up their leaders and keep them accountable. Let’s end theft so that work can be done.”

Begins Tour
Kebaso was touring the second county since acquiring a Prado and a Public Address system using funds donated by Kenyans who supported his initiative of providing civic education to Kenyans.
While commencing his tour, Morara first made his first stop at the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) on September 6 where he received a warm reception before making a public address.
The lawyer then made a tour of Isiolo County where he exposed the unfinished Isiolo County Government headquarters which he alleged cost Ksh870 million.
