A Kakamega County Member of the County Assembly (MCA) Gildon Opati Shioso has launched a new political party named the Anguka Nayo Democratic Movement Party (ANDMP).
In a statement on July 26, Opati highlighted that the movement embodies the voices, needs, and dreams of youth and women, who have been integral to its formation and evolution.
“I am proud to announce the establishment of the Anguka Nayo Democratic Movement, a new political force driven by the shared aspirations of the youth, women, and men from all walks of life,” the MCA elected on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket said.
“I urge you to lend your wholehearted support to this upcoming movement. Collectively, we can lay the groundwork for a politics that embodies our values and aspirations, shaping history together.”
The MCA said the party is steadfastly dedicated to addressing the core issues that resonate with their generation and are pivotal to their mission.
He urged its members to stand united and resolute in their vision and purpose.
“We are not without shape or direction; we stand poised to make an indelible mark on the national stage, infusing our politics with fresh perspectives and innovative ideas,” he said.

7 Manifestos of the Party
Furthermore, Gildon Opati highlighted seven key issues that the ANDMP will champion, including the matter of high taxation, which hinders economic growth and places undue pressure on livelihoods.
“The Anguka Nayo Democratic Movement will champion equitable tax policies that foster economic dynamism and provide relief to hardworking Kenyans,” read the statement in part.
The party also seeks to address the issue of limited employment opportunities that vibrant and talented youth often grapple with.
They are committed to creating an environment where abundant job opportunities are accessible to all, with a special focus on empowering young citizens.
Opati stated that the party will vigorously advocate for policies that facilitate the flourishing of small and medium-sized enterprises, thereby nurturing innovation and economic prosperity.
He explained that this is due to the high costs of doing business, as aspiring entrepreneurs encounter significant hurdles in establishing and sustaining their businesses.
Additionally, ANDMP seeks to address economic inequality and the cost of living by forging an inclusive economy that caters to all, not just a select few. The party aims to alleviate the cost of living and ensure universal access to essentials and avenues for progress.
The party also aims to tackle the pervasive menace of corruption through an unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and sound governance.

Opati added that his party is dedicated to safeguarding the environment for future generations, which he described as an imperative responsibility.
“The Anguka Nayo Democratic Movement will ardently promote sustainable practices and address pressing issues such as pollution, deforestation, and climate change,” the statement reads further.
The party further seeks to advocate for improved mental health services and support systems, ensuring that everyone can access essential care.

The name of the Party comes after a song Anguka Nayo was released three weeks ago by rap duo Wadagliz and has racked up over 3.2 million views.
The song has become the soul of the Kenyan online activism, quickly connecting with the Gen Z anti-government movement.
The song’s title has become the perfect way to describe what Kenyans have been demanding over the past month: the end of harsh public servants and their corrupt practices.
“Anguka Nayo” also proved timely as government changes continued to unfold, including the sacking of the Cabinet, resignation of Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome among other changes.
