A distressed Mama Mboga handed Ksh6 million to Pastor Ezekiel, seeking assistance after individuals she labeled as CIDs presented her with the unexpected sum.
The Nairobi businesswoman was taken aback when people she asserted were Nairobi CIDs handed her the substantial amount.
The origin of the money has since raised questions as the mama mboga’s account suggests that the CIDs discovered the funds in dollars in her son’s car. She noted that the son works as an Uber driver.
Following the seizure of the money, the officers went ahead to convert it into Kenyan currency, accumulating a total of Ksh 10 million as per the woman’s narration.
She further told the congregation that the officers claimed their portion of Ksh4 million before delivering the remaining sum to her in a sack.
Where did the Money Come From?
“The dollars were found in my son’s car. He is an uber driver. The CIDs went to the bank and the money was converted to Kenyan currency bringing the total to Ksh 10 million. They gave me 6 million and went with the remaining amount to their car, where my son was,” she recounted.
Upon meeting at their designated point on Jogoo Road, the officers dropped Mama Mboga off at her selling stall in Bama before continuing their journey to an undisclosed location.

This complex series of events left the businesswoman puzzled about the money’s purpose, leading her to entertain suspicions that it might be proceeds from criminal activity.
Why did she take the cash to Pastor Ezekiel?
Driven by fear and still donning her business attire, Mama Mboga undertook a journey to Mombasa to present the money at the altar of God hoping to seek assistance and prayers from Pastor Ezekiel at the New Life Prayer Centre.
Amid her troubled thoughts, she grappled with the concern that her son Okello might be in danger, particularly given that he was transported to Milimani without any understanding of the alleged offense or the origin of the money.
This particular reason led her to seek spiritual guidance before deciding on the money’s use.

“I do not understand why they gave me the money and went with my son. It could be that they left the cash so that they can buy a coffin and ferry my son’s body home; I just don’t know.
“This is why I did not enter my house with the money. The moment I received it I embarked on a journey to Mombasa to bring it to the alter,” said the distraught woman.
Pastor Ezekiel’s Reaction
Upon inspecting the money, which included both Kenyan and Tanzanian currencies, Pastor Ezekiel assured the woman that he would securely hold the funds as she sought information about her son’s location and well-being.
“This is what I’m going to do. I will keep the money safe for you. Go look for your son, know his location and health status. If questioned speak the truth – what the CIDs told you and how the whole process began and ended,” advised the televangelist.
