The Office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (ODPP) has dismissed reports that Pastor Ezekiel had been cleared of all charges leveled against him regarding Shakahola massacre.
In a statement, the ODDP stated that their attention had been drawn to information regarding courts allegedly clearing pastor Ezekiel
” Contrary to the said reports, we would like to clarify that a review of the inquiry files in respect of Mr. Odero is ongoing and NO CASE AGAINST HIM HAS BEEN TERMINATED as alleged,” read part of the statement.

According to DPP Pastor Ezekiel’s arraignment pending investigations was set for seven days, but later the DPP asked for a 30-day extension to enable completion of investigations.
“Upon presentation of Mr. Odero, and on the application by the DPP, the court ordered that Mr. Odero be detained for seven (7) days pending investigations,” stated the report.
Further according to the DPP at the expiry of the seven days, the DPP sought an extension of custodial orders for a further thirty (30) days to enable the police complete to investigations.
The ODPP has further clariid that his custodial extension was more important to prevent potential interference of witnesses.
DPP on Ksh1.5 million refund
Likewise, according to the DPP, the court, however, accepted Mr Odero’s bond of Ksh1.5 million on the condition that he won’t interfere with the witnesses.

“The court, however, admitted Mr. Odero to a bond of Kshs. 1.5 million with conditions not to interfere with witnesses and report to the investigators on a weekly basis,” stated the ODPP.
While clearing the air on closing custodial case on Pastor Ezekiel, the ODPP stated that it is making a review on the investigations and shall decide his fate as soon as review is complete.
