Jubilee Digital Communications Strategist Pauline Njoroge has clarified reports thatĀ former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga held a meeting in Dubai.
Pauline noted that bloggers have over the past few weeks been claiming that the retired President is in Dubai.
In a statement posted on her social media on 21st July 2024, Njoroge firmly debunked the reports, asserting that the claims are a distraction from the pressing issues facing Kenyans.
“In the last few weeks, UDA bloggers have been claiming that Uhuru is in Dubai, and I have seen there is a sponsored story on the same in one of the dailies today,ā Pauline wrote.

āThe narrative is being pushed by people who are in denial about the current happenings and are not ready to give any meaningful response to the issues that Kenyans are raising,ā she added.
Njoroge continued by highlighting the geographical implausibility of the claims, noting that Uhuru Kenyatta is in the United States.
“Uhuru is about 12,000 km away from Dubai and last time I checked, there was no place called Dubai in the U.S where the former president has been residing in the last few weeks,” she wrote.

Clarification on Railaās Dubai Travel
Addressing the separate issue of Raila Odingaās travel to Dubai, Njoroge emphasized that the Azimio leaderās visit had no connection to Kenyatta.
“Raila traveling to Dubai has got nothing to do with Uhuru. Itās crazy for anyone to imagine that the former Prime Minister has no mind of his own to make his own independent decisions, or business of his own to attend to out there and he can only be traveling to meet Uhuru, or that he does not have money of his own to travel to Dubai and the trip must have been sponsored by someone else,” part of the post read.

The strategy of spreading misinformation, she suggests, is an attempt to avoid addressing critical questions and concerns from the public.

The clarification from Njoroge serves as a reminder of the importance of verifying information and the potential consequences of unfounded claims in the realm of public discourse.
