Police have asked Kenyans to follow Supreme Court proceeding and judgement from their homes.
This comes ahead of the anticipated Supreme Court sitting to pass its verdict on the presidential petition on Monday, September 5.
Moreover, the Apex Court is set to deliver judgment from noon.
Through a statement issued on Saturday, the acting Inspector General of Police Noor Gabow advised Kenyans against gathering outside court premises at Milimani Law Courts.
“We wish to advice the general public to avoid gathering at the Supreme Court during the ruling, or congregating in public gatherings but follow the proceedings from the comfort of their homes,” Gabow said.
Furthermore, Gabow stated that access to the court precincts will be limited to the public and all roads leading to the Supreme Court closed.
“Traffic police officers shall be deployed adequately to direct traffic around the court facility,” he added.
Likewise, on August 22, Azimio la Umoja supporters jammed the court precincts as coalition leader Raila Odinga was filing his petition.

In addition, supporters of the veteran politician camped outside the court for hours as Raila and his team delivered track-full of documents as evidence in the petition.
Nevertheless, the Supreme Court will on Monday, September 5, 2022 deliver its verdict on the petition after the conclusion of a three-day hearing on Friday.
