Renowned investigative journalist Franklin Wallah has finally joined Cape Media owned television station TV47 weeks after speculation about his next move after leaving K24.
Wallah officially announced his exit from Mediamax Network Limited on April 15 but failed to give details about his future.
However, the crime reported is now part of the Cape Media which owns TV47 and Radio47.
In a statement on his social media accounts, Wallah confirmed that he is part of TV 47 and asked his fans to tune in for his first appearance at 9:30pm on Thursday, May 9.
The journalist posted a photo at the TV station with the caption “Good Morning…No More Ask! Starting Today 9:30pm…See you.”
Wallah announced that his first report will provide key insights in the murder of Rita Waeni which hit headlines and attracted criticisms from leaders across the political divide.
“Rita Waeni’s murder was one of the most heinous crimes ever committed in Kenya, which sent the country into shock! So, what really transpired before her murder? Tv47 emerge with crucial insights, tonight at 9:30PM,” he wrote.
He joins former KTN journalist Betty Kyalo who will be hosting TV47’s Friday night news and lifestyle show, dubbed ‘This Friday’.
Sensational radio presenter Shatta Buay also joined Radio47 from Radio Citizen.

Standard Group’s Offer
There were earlier reports that Wallah left K24 to join the Standard Media Group (SG) where he worked from 2019 to 2021 as a crime and investigative journalist before rejoining Mediamax in the same capacity.
According to the reports, SG management had been pursuing the journalist for the last six months to join the Mombasa Road-based media house.
Also, reports indicate that Cape Media has been planning to establish a crimes and investigation desk to broadcast, impactful crime content for its brands like TV47, Radio 47 and TV47 Digital
Wallah headed the crimes and investigation desk at K24, where he produced several key stories that promoted the brand.

Wallah’s Journalism Career
His stint on crime and investigative journalism traces back to 2016 when he was at the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) as a trainee.
He later joined K24 in the same year where he worked until 2019 before crossing over to KTN until 2021.
Wallah also worked at Standard Group for two years before he returned to K24 until his recent exit in 2024.
The journalist is known for breaking real time and verifiable crime stories among them exposes.
He was the first journalist to expose socialite Starlet Wahu’s murder in a detailed CCTV report exposing how murders took place in Airbnbs.
He is known for other impactful stories among them MAUAJI Ya Wambui, Yala Killings, Teen Sex Parties, Giza la Gaza, and Kisirani Kisauni among others.
