Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has castigated former Prime Minister Raila Odinga arguing that he has turned the Luo community into slaves.
Speaking in Uriri Constituency, Migori County, on Sunday, September, PS Omollo questioned the move by ODM to expel five MPs and MCAs from the party due to their association with the Kenya Kwanza government.
“How come its only Luo Nyanza leaders who are being punished and expelled for working with President William Ruto and very okay for the non-luo in ODM to work with him and nothing happens,” asked Omollo.
Further, Omollo stated that there are MCAs who were expelled for associating with him.
Additionally, the PS mentioned that the Luo community has elevated some leaders to the point that they now despise the people.
“We have turned ourselves into slaves to the extent some people believe we don’t deserve to be anything,” he said.
The PS emphasized that the region must accept this ugly truth for development and change to be witnessed in Nyanza.
In his speech, PS Omollo said the Nyanza governors were happy to receive President Ruto during his tour of the region.
“The governor for Migori followed him to Kisumu. So did the Homabay, Kisumu and Siaya governors, they were all eager and glad to meet the President.
“Even our Nyanza leader, whom you all respect so much, followed the President to Mombasa at midnight,” he said.

Time for Change, Raymond to Luo Nyanza
The PS emphasized that it is time for Luo Nyanza to face reality and change the slow development in the region.
According to Omollo, the reason people seek to form the government is to bring development to the people.
“Today, MP Mark Nyamita has brought the speaker here, he is a member of the government.
It can’t be that we are happy with his money to build this Church, but we have a problem with the government he serves,” argued Omollo.
Omollo, who was speaking in Luo dialect, added that the region should not be for people who love the government resources but hate the president.
“We cannot be people who love milk but hate the cow,” he said.

ODM Expulsion
On Wednesday, September 6, ODM expelled Felix Odiwuor Jalang’o (Lang’ata), Tom Ojienda (Kisumu), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem) Caroli Omondi (Suba South), and Gideon Ochada (Bondo).
According to Odinga’s orange party, it went after the five MPs over gross misconduct and for defying the party’s position.
However, the party decided to fine MPs Paul Abuor (Rongo) and Mark Nyamita of Uriri a sum of Ksh 1 million each.
Also, ODM nullified the nominations of four Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Kisumu County on allegations of gross misconduct.
