The Royal Media Services (RMS) has advertised job opportunities in nine different departments.
In an update on March 25, RMS invited applications for the following positions: assistant traffic controller, tv producer/director, camera person, digital video photographer, social media executives and digital content producers.
The leading media house is also seeking to recruit cameraperson (Wajir, Correspondent), digital reporter and radio presenter (Bahari FM).
The deadline for all the applications is Thursday, March 28, 2024.
Assistant Traffic Controller
RMS explained that the assistant traffic controller will facilitate seamless flow of commercial materials, information, and resources between clients and internal teams.
Interested candidates must have a degree or diploma from a recognized University/College, good computer knowledge and be social media savvy.

TV Producer/Director
RMS also advertised a vacancy for the position of TV Producer/Director.
The company explained that candidate must a creative producer with demonstratable production and organizational skills.
“The jobholder should be a team player, a problem solver and possess a clear understanding of overall content production process,” said RMS.
Interested candidates must be a university graduate in Communication/TV production with relevant practical experience.
He/she must also have a minimum three (3) years’ experience in TV production process with skills in video editing (Final Cut) and aftereffects an added advantage.

Camera Person
Additionally, RMS is recruiting competent individuals to the position of cameraperson to help meet the growing demands of the organization.
Applicants must possess a diploma or equivalent in Video production in a recognized institution or any other related field.
“Must have not less than 3years relevant experience as a Camera operator in a busy media house or a renowned Tv program production company,” RMS said.
They must also be excellent in video production, Lighting, and sound Recording.
Interested candidates must be well conversant with two editing software and excellent editing skills.

Digital Video Photographer
The organization is also looking for a trained creative digital video/photographer with great production and organizational skills.
The jobholder is expected to be a team player, a problem solver with great attention to detail and possess a clear understanding of overall content production process.
“Engage in the pre-production, production and post-production process of assigned visual projects,” will be the key focus areas.
Interested candidates must have a diploma in Communication or TV production with relevant practical experience.
Bachelor’s in communication or TV production will be an added advantage while a proven knowledge of digital media and content landscape is required.
“Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Creative suite, Media Encoder and Final Cut Pro is required,” stated advert.
They should also have a deep understanding of programming across social media channels, including experience creating original video for social platforms including YouTube, Facebook.

Social Media Executives
The successful candidate will be responsible developing suitable content to enhance online presence of the vernacular stations, engage with audience, and promote the company’s brand.
Applicants must have excellent spoken and writing skills in Kikuyu, Dholuo, Kalenjin, Kamba, Kiembu, Ameru, Luhya, Ekegusii or Swahili cha Kijomba.
They must have strong analytical skills, understand media laws and media ethics, and be self-driven, assertive, punctual, and organized.
Also, candidates must be social media savvy and keep abreast of evolving trends.
Candidates must possess a diploma or degree in Communication, Media or a related field from a recognized institution.
Royal Media needs an individual with demonstrated capacity in managing social media accounts and two years’ experience working either as a journalist, social media executive.

Digital Content Producer
Royal Media is recruiting for a digital content producer with experience producing compelling digital content that resonates with the online community.
Successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire content production process, from concept development to distribution.
The ideal candidate must have a proven record of creating compelling digital content across various platforms and a strong understanding of digital content production.

RMS advertised one position for the position of a correspondent in Wajir County.
The correspondent will be required to source, generate, package and present the news.
He/she will report to the Head of Camera.
Academic qualifications include a degree in journalism, mass communications and at least one-year relevant experience as a reporter / correspondent in a busy media house.

Radio Presenter-Bahari FM
Bahari FM is seeking to fill the position of a radio presenter.
Candidates must be below 35 years of age with a bachelor’s degree preferably in the arts or mass communication training.
However, a diploma in Radio broadcast or broadcast journalism from Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) also qualifies.
They must also have a minimum of three years on- the- job experience in radio or TV broadcast.
Candidates must be fluent in spoken and written English, Swahili (Coastal) with a rich voice and an ear for music.
Applicants must also have a proper understanding of the Coastal region and its people.
He/she must be able to work long hours/odd hours without supervision and be social media savvy innovative and creative.
